Dr. Wendy’s academic career began with a major in Broadcast Journalism, but after a few bumps in the road, she transferred to Stratton College, where she earned an associate’s degree in Accounting and was president of the local chapter of Professional Business Leaders of America. She continued her education at Lakeland College, earning a BS in Accounting/Economics. While attending Lakeland in the evening, she was also raising a daughter and working full-time. Since she was successful as a single mom struggling to work and earn her way through school, she believed she could motivate and empower others to do what she was doing. 

After several jobs and not feeling directed, she knew it was time for a change of environment. With a sister in Houston, it seemed the place to go, so she packed up her daughter and their things and headed to Texas.  She didn’t have a job, but she was filled with determination and drive. read more...
